By installing and using this Application and accessing the related Services, this Application receives and collects certain Personal Data of its Users in order to make available, provide, improve, personalize, support and market its Services. The type of data this Application receives and collects depends on how the User uses the Services.
Among the Personal Data collected by this Application, independently or through third parties, are: Cookies; Usage Data; surname; email; telephone number; first name; various types of Data; Data communicated during the use of the Services; geographic position; unique device identifiers for advertising.
Full details on each type of data collected are provided in the dedicated sections of this Privacy Policy or through specific information texts displayed before the data are collected.
Personal Data may be freely provided by the User or, in the case of Usage Data, collected automatically during the use of this Application.
Unless otherwise specified, all Data requested by this Application is mandatory. If the User refuses to provide it, this Application may be unable to provide the Services. Where this Application indicates that some Data is optional, Users are free not to provide such Data, without any consequence for the availability of the Services or their operation. Users who are unsure which Data is mandatory are encouraged to contact the Controller.
Any use of Cookies – or of other tracking tools – by this Application or by the owners of the third-party services used by this Application, unless otherwise specified, serves the purpose of providing the Services requested by the User, in addition to the further purposes described in this document and in the Cookie Policy. The User assumes responsibility for any third-party Personal Data obtained, published or shared through this Application and warrants that they have the right to communicate or disseminate it, releasing the Controller from any liability towards third parties.
The User provides their mobile phone number and basic information (including a profile name) to create a Powandgo account. The User agrees to provide Powandgo on a regular basis, in accordance with applicable laws, with the phone numbers of the contacts in the address book of their mobile device, including those of Users of the Services of this Application and of other contacts. The User may provide an email address. The User may also add other information to their account, such as a profile picture.
Powandgo does not store Users’ messages in the ordinary course of providing the Services. Once delivered, messages (including chats, photos, videos, voice messages, files and shared location information) are deleted from the servers used by Powandgo. Users’ messages are stored on their device. If a message cannot be delivered immediately (for example, if the User is offline), Powandgo will keep it on its servers for up to 30 days while trying to deliver it. If the message has still not been delivered after 30 days, it will be deleted. To improve performance and deliver messages with multimedia content more efficiently, for example when many people share a popular photo or video, Powandgo stores such content on its servers for a longer period. Powandgo also offers end-to-end encryption for the Services, which is enabled by default. End-to-end encryption means that Users’ messages are encrypted so that neither Powandgo nor third parties can read them.
To facilitate communications, Powandgo helps the User identify their contacts who already use Powandgo; the User can then create groups and broadcast lists, join them or be added to them, associating them with their account information. The User assigns a name to their groups. The User may choose to provide a description or a profile picture for groups.
If the User uses the payment services provided by Powandgo, available in the country where they reside, this Application will process information on purchases and transactions as described further below.
The User agrees to provide Powandgo with information relating to the use of the Services, including copies of messages, and ways to contact them, so that this Application can provide support. For example, the User may send Powandgo an email containing information about the performance of the Application or other issues.
Powandgo collects information about the User’s activity on the Services it offers, such as usage, diagnostic and performance information. This includes information about the User’s activity (including how they use the Services, their Services settings, how they interact with others through the Services, and the times, frequency and duration of their activities and interactions), log files and reports relating to diagnostics, crashes, website and performance. It also includes information about when the User registered to use the Services, the features they use such as messaging, calls, status or groups, profile photo, about information, information on when the User is online, when they last used the Services (“last seen”) and when they last updated their personal information.
Powandgo collects device-specific and connection information when the User installs, accesses or uses the Services. This includes information such as hardware model, operating system information, battery level, signal strength, Application version, browser and mobile network information, connection information, including mobile phone number, mobile operator or ISP, language and time zone, IP address, information on device operations and identifiers such as device identifiers.
Powandgo collects information about the device’s location if the User uses location features, such as when they choose to share their location with their contacts, view nearby locations or those that others have shared with them, and the like, and for diagnostic and troubleshooting purposes, for example if the User encounters problems with the Application’s location features. Powandgo uses various technologies to determine location, including IP, GPS, Bluetooth signals and information on nearby Wi-Fi access points, beacons and cell towers.
Powandgo uses Cookies to make available and provide the Services, as well as to offer them on the web, to improve the User’s experience, to understand how the Services are used and to personalize them. To learn more, the User can consult Powandgo’s Cookie Policy.
Powandgo receives information about the User from other Users and businesses. For example, when other Users or businesses that the User knows use the Services, they may provide the User’s phone number, name or other information (such as that found in their device’s address book or, in the case of businesses, additional information such as unique identifiers), in the same way that the User may provide information about other Users, or they may send a message to the User or to groups the User belongs to, or contact the User by phone. Such Users and businesses are required to hold the legal rights to collect, use and share information about the User before providing us with any information.
The businesses with which the User interacts through Powandgo provide us with information about those interactions. A business on Powandgo may also ask another company for assistance in storing, reading and responding to messages on its behalf and in support of that business. Please note that when businesses use third-party services, the terms and privacy policies of those services govern the User’s use of such services and the businesses’ use of users’ information within them.
Powandgo works with third-party service providers to make available, provide, improve, personalize, support and market the Services. For example, Powandgo works with companies to distribute our applications, provide our infrastructure, delivery and other systems, supply location, map and place information, process payments, understand how people use the Services and market the Services, establish connections between users and the businesses that use the Services, conduct surveys and research for us and help us with customer support. In some cases, these companies may provide information about the User; for example, app stores may provide us with reports for diagnostics and the resolution of technical problems.
Powandgo allows the Services of Powandgo to be used together with third-party services. If the User uses the Services of this Application together with third-party services, Powandgo may receive information about the User from those services, for example when using Powandgo’s share button on a news service to share an article with Powandgo contacts, groups or broadcast lists within the Services, or when accessing the Services through a promotion of the Services by a mobile operator or device provider. Please note that, by using third-party services, you accept the terms and privacy policies that govern their use.
By using and communicating through the Services, the User shares their information, which Powandgo in turn shares in order to make available, provide, improve, personalize, support and market the Services.
The User shares their information (including messages) while using the Services to communicate.
The phone number, profile information, last seen and read receipts are available to all Users who use the Services, although the User can configure the Services settings to manage the information available to other Users and to the businesses with which they communicate.
Other people and businesses with which the User communicates may in turn store or share information (including phone number or messages) with other people inside and outside the Services. The User can use the Services settings and the block feature within them to manage the Users of the Services with whom they communicate and some of the information they share.
Powandgo helps businesses that use the Application measure the effectiveness and distribution of their services and messages and understand how people interact with them on the Services.
Powandgo works with third-party service providers to make available, provide, improve, personalize, support and market the Services. When Powandgo shares information with third-party providers in this context, it requires them to use the User’s information in accordance with Powandgo’s instructions and conditions.
When the User uses third-party services integrated into the Services, those third parties may receive information about what the User shares with them. For example, if the User uses a data backup service integrated into the Services (such as iCloud or Google Drive), that service will receive information shared by the User. If the User interacts with a third-party service connected to the Services, they will provide information directly to those third parties. Please note that, by using third-party services, you accept the terms and privacy policies that govern their use.
